Negative and Slide Scanning of London is the only negative and slide scanning company that provides high-resolution digital scans of your 35mm, 126 and 110 negatives and slide film as “standard scans”. Coupled with state-of-the-art Plustek OpticFilm 8300i SE 35mm negative and slide scanners, our scans produce high quality digital scans from your 35mm negatives and slides. Furthermore, its sharp optical system produces excellent detail in shadow areas whilst preserving a brilliant overall tonal range.
Additionally, our scanning technique implements improved algorithms which utilise clean and white LED illumination. Coupled with crystal-clear optical systems, you will receive crisp, tack-sharp negative slide scans. Moreover, our negative scanning services also uses infrared technology to remove dust and scratches from your original colour negatives and slides. In turn, this reduces or eliminates the need to perform additional time-consuming editing in Photoshop.
Unfortunately, infrared technology does not technically work with black & white films. However, you can find dozens of digital negative editors on Fiverr.com or similar online services. Digital artists found on Fiverr can often perform the work fairly inexpensively even when working with multiple images. We will scan your black and white negative films and you can forward those digital files to your artist of choice.
Finally, our dedicated film scanners first scans at 48-Bit utilising renowned SilverFast Ai Studio software by LaserSoft Imaging®. Consecutively, this step provides true 3600 dpi optical resolution for sharp and vivid images. The result of our scanning services provides digital files that can be between 25 to 75 megapixels in size which is suitable for prints up to 24″ x 36” / 61 x 91 cm.
We’re not cheap, but that’s because we care. Every negative or slide scan takes approximately 3-5 minutes. We have a two-step scratch and dust removal process that literally removes all dust and scratches from the negative like magic! That same negative is then exported to Photoshop where we perform additional editing that includes color-correcting and reducing film grains while slightly sharpening the image. If you want fast cheap scans, then our service is not for you.

- Rolls of negatives must be cut by customer before shipping to us.
- Cutting fee of £5.00 per 36 exposures will be accessed to non-cut films.

Personal Delivery
We understand how precious your old negatives and slides are to you. So if you wish to personally bring your precious memories to us, we welcome that as well. Please be sure to contact us first so we can make sure someone is present to accept your order. We are located within a secured building and there isn’t a safe place to leave your negative or slides.
Delivery Of Your Original Negative & Slides
You’re able to download your images from our Cloud server and we also provide your images on a USB drive for an additional £10.00. For orders over £100, we will post your original negatives and slides back to you via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Otherwise, the cost to post your negatives and slides will be either £4.29 or £5.15 depending upon the of the parcel box required.

- Professional Equipment: We scan using purpose-built, high-resolution Plustek film scanners, and not general flatbed scanners.
- 3600 dpi for both slides and negatives.
- Colour & Quality Enhancement: Every image is auto-adjusted in Adobe Photoshop® for accurate colour, brightness, and contrast.
Note: Infrared digital cleaning is not technically available on black-and-white films.
What You’ll Receive
We offer two scanning options.
- Your images are first scanned and processed as 48-bit TIFF files, then converted to high-quality 24-Bit JPGs for easy use and sharing.
- For professional clients, we also offer the option to receive the original 48-Bit TIFF files.
You can choose to receive your images:
- On a portable USB drive.
- Via a secure online link.
We also keep a secure backup of your digital files for up to one (1) year, so if anything ever gets lost, we can replace it – no rescanning required.
